Lip does not have a supply of any gland and hence if neglected they become dry. Following are the tips for healthy lips.

 
 
A Lip balm should be applied at night. However some suggest regular application of lip balm at regular interval.
   
Rubbing skin of peeled lemon on lips prevents it from blackening.
   
For rosepink lip application of Juice of Kothimbir is said to be beneficial.
   
Vitamin A, K and E and iron are good for lips and diet containing these vitamins should be consumed in plenty.
   
Cracked lip / Chapped lip. A exfoliant specifically for lip can be used to gently scrub and removed the flakes. Once flakes are removed lip balm can be applied. Naturally cracked/chapped lip can be healed by application of butter. (tup/loni)
   
Juice of beetroot is good for lips and hence should be consumed plenty.
   
Avoid using old lipstick
   
Use brush to apply lipstick
   
Application of sunscreen to lip is also claimed to be beneficial.
   
Don’t lick your lips
   
Drink plenty water. Drinking plenty water may make your lips soft and prevent lip form cracking
   
Some are allergic to a particular toothpaste , chewing gum etc. which should be avoided if they are creating any problem to lips
